A Positive Divergence from Chiropractic
Chiropractic Plus+ is the experience I bring to the chiropractic profession as a deeply present, relational practitioner. It's longer sessions, it's listening, it's incorporating dance or astrology, earth, stones, or crystals, and it's an acknowledgement of skills and abilities, trainings and education that impacts my professional offerings, but does not replace them. I am trained in both sensitive and slow as well as fast and deep chiropractic adjustments. I also have training & experience in massage & cranial sacral, meditation & breathing techniques, substance abuse counseling, one-on-one & group mentorship, carnage-informed care, and deep holding & Touch Specialist training with Aaron Johnson & team. Chiropractic Plus+ is an acknowledgement of my most deeply impactful life experiences enhancing the offerings I bring.
I offer short sessions called touch ins no less than 15 minutes long and long sessions called intensives that may last up to 90 minutes.
A Short Summary of Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a field of the healing arts and the medical field specializing in skeletal joints — from cranial bones, to the intricate notches of the spine, to the joints of the fingers and toes. Chiropractors tend to focus on the spinal joints since they house the spinal cord, which includes where the skull meets the spine and where the spine meets the pelvis at the sacrum.
There are many types of chiropractors but the through-line is they typically adjust your joints, sometimes making a popping sound. Beyond the first appointment, which is 45 to 90min, it is customary to spend less than 10 minutes in the room with a chiropractor.
All chiropractors at this point are holders of a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic (DC), which requires 3-4 years of study in anatomy, chemistry, physiology, radiology, rigorous bone and joint anatomy, pathology, advanced imaging and more and includes a preceptorship with one or more clinics.
