The Original People of the Land

I am local and not indigenous to the land that is now referred to in the settlers' tongue as Portland, OR. Today I live and work in Multnomah County, the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Cowlitz bands of Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla and many other Tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. People from these bands today have joined to become Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, as well as the Chinook Nation and Cowlitz Nation in Washington State. Empowered Chiropractic pays respect to the elders past and present who have stewarded this land and each other throughout generations.
